CWG- The pride of India. We are going strong

This post comes on a day going deep into our history books - 3rd October 2010 , the day commonwealth  games kickstarted in our very own Bharat. The opening ceremony can be described in one word - exquisite. My heart swelled up with pride when exactly at 8:45 pm the Indian contignent led by Abhinav Bhindra entered the stadium. The frenzy it instilled in the crowd is beyond description.

It was in every manner an Indian welcome for the guests and visitors who could not but break into thunderous applause.

A week back we had a debate in the college : Should India be allowed to host the games or not?? At that time I had a conflict with my friend , she doubted India's ability to be even a part of the games let alone host them. I supported India through and through , everyone ridiculed me. I hope everyone has changed their opinion now . India cannot only pull of the games successfully but also grab many medals , I can say this seeing the 620 people marching their way down in the stadium for the country. India is certainly going strong.Cheers to the country.

Whenever I hear the A.R Rahman song I get goosebumps , it really is mesmerising and here goes the lyrics of the masterpiece by the Mozart of South India:

Oh yaaro, yeh India bulaa liya

Diwaano yeh India bulaa liya (bulaa liya)
Yeh toh khel hai
Bada mel hai
Mila diya (mila diya)
Yeh toh khel hai
Bada mel hai
Mila diya (mila diya)

Oh rukna rukna rukna rukna rukna nahi
Haarna haarna haarna haarna haarna nahi
Junoon se kanoon se maidaan maar lo

Let’s go, let’s go
Play o jiyo heyo let’s go
Play o jiyo heyo let’s go

Oh yaaro, yeh India bulaa liya
Diwaano yeh India bulaa liya, bulaa liya
Parvat sa uncha hoon dhun toh yeh
Duniya salaami de
Sardil iraade na ho jaayein kahin
Dil toh bas suraj dale

Jiyo utho badho jeeto
Tera mera jahaan let’s go
Kaisi saji hai saji hai dekho maati apni
Bani rashke jahaan yaara ho
Kai rang hai boli hai kai desh hai magan
Yahin jag hai samaaya saara ho

Oo oo
Laagi re ab laagi re lagan, oo oo
Jaagi re mann jeet ki agan, oo oo
Uthi re ab iraadon mein tapan, oo oo
Chali re dholi chali ban than
... ?
Let the games take over me
We like the time ..
.. the will to win to thrill to drill
Play o jiyo heyo let’s go

Kadamon mein ik bhanwar ka hai din
Jashn ka aaj din hai
Seeno mein toofan ka hai din
Baazu aasman yeh din hai

Yeh din hai
Yeh raat din hai
Tu zor laga chal aankh mila
Dhal na aaye din yeh

Jiyo utho badho jeeto
Play o jiyo heyo let’s go
Jiyo utho badho jeeto
Tera mera jahan hai yeh!!

College

What a whirlwind of a week it has been. College started on monday. Initially I was a bit excited and edgy but everything seems to have settled down in a week and I finally have the time to write.Let me tell all those who are still in school-college is not all fun ( unless you have great friends) you have to study too, especially in an engg. college.Fortunately I have found some good friends. C and A are great to hang out with and G is of great help always, G is an old friend , I'm really thankful to her for helping me whenever it was needed , motivation and lending me her notes. Thanks buddy.

The best part is we have carpentry and smithy workshops ,working there is really cool.We cut pieces of wood and all. It's distinctive from the physics and maths routine. One think I don't understand is when are the profs going to undersand the difference between college and school. They still treat us like kids.

More than anything else I was looking forward to ragging by the seniors , not the very serious one but some fun  interaction but the seniors are really boring and  unwilling to go beyond introduction. Can you believe it they came even for the introduction on the fourth day of college? I'm so sick of introducing myself to people who are not going to remember it the seniors and profs included also it's so nerve-wrecking to remember all the names. I have met a million people but recall the names of only a handful.

I am little disgruntled by the fact that the guys in the entire campus are not good. Earlier I doubted but now I am sure something Chandigarh lacks is good guys, sorry boys . The good ones are either taken or unwilling to be taken. Anyways does'nt matter I enjoy with my friends.

I still have to explore the campus more on it later.
